Two Surveys to take for Guardians of Children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder

Parents/Guardians – help improve future services by completing these surveys and encouraging other families to do the same…

Researchers at the University of South Dakota are conducting surveys on behalf of the South Dakota Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (SD LEND) program.

CHILD’S DIAGNOSIS SURVEY: Share your experiences about receiving your child’s diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Researchers are interested in learning about your experience with emotions and potentially traumatic events, and MOST IMPORTANTLY your experience when your child was diagnosed.

The anonymous online survey will take about 30 minutes to complete. Your contributions to this research will help inform professionals serving you and your child and benefit future parents going through the diagnostic process.  Five participants will be chosen at random to win one of five $20 Amazon gift cards.

SCHOOL BASED SERVICES SURVEY: Share your perceptions regarding school based services for your son or daughter with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Researchers are interested in what autism characteristics your son/daughter exhibits,  what kinds of social-emotional services they receive at school, and MOST IMPORTANTLY your opinion about what could be improved with these services.

The  anonymous online survey will take 20-25 minutes to complete. Your contributions to this research may help inform the professionals serving your child, and hopefully benefit the wider community in which your child will spend her/his life.
