NYC Fatherhood and Family Enrichment Conference – Saturday, April 9th

Borough President Oddo is pleased to join The ROLE Call to host the NYC Fatherhood and Family Enrichment Conference. The conference will take place on Saturday, April 9th from 9:30am to 3pm at Port Richmond High School.

The free conference will feature seminars and workshops from experts in family and fatherhood services. One of the keynote speakers, Bill Davis, will tell his story of raising a son with autism, which is documented in the book “Far From the Tree” by Andrew Solomon. Some of the other topics covered in the workshops include Fatherhood Engagement and Involvement, Positive Co-Parenting, New Fathers Workshops, Child Support Information and Family Financial Planning. There will also be workshops specifically for members of the Spanish speaking community and for parents of children with autism. The theme of this year’s conference is “Strong Fathers Build Strong Families, Strong Families Build Strong Communities.”

The ROLE Call’s mission is to increase and enhance Fatherhood Engagement for the benefit of families by providing training and resources to fathers, single mothers, young men and women without fathers and to absentee fathers looking to reconnect with their children. The ROLE Call connects children with a responsible male adult for guidance and fathering/mentoring.
