Medicare Rights Center Workshop – Paying for Your Medicare Costs: A Guide to Medicare’s Assistance Programs

Medicare is a health and prescription drug insurance program administered by the United States government providing coverage to people who are aged 65 and over, or who meet other special criteria. There are costs associated with all parts of Medicare. Most participants pay a monthly premium for coverage and many are also subject to to co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles for many services and prescription drugs. For people with limited incomes, these costs can create barriers to care. In today’s workshop we will outline the programs available to people with limited incomes that help pay for Medicare.

Topics covered will include:
·       Medicare Savings Programs
·       Extra Help
·       EPIC
·       Medicare/Medicare Coordination
·       New York State Prescription Saver Card
