“Forever more in our country, we can’t sweep those huge disparities with outcomes between white children and Latino children and African-American children, we can’t sweep those under the rug ever again,”  -US Education Secretary Arne Duncan.

As we begin to restore & rebuild public schools serving our children of color on Staten Island, it is imperative for educational advocates to cohesively & proactively come together to address & implement the best alternatives for the needs of our children. 1. American Civil Rights Education Services, Inc (ACRES) is looking forward to attending this celebration of education. Can you put me in contact with a PS 14 representative – perhaps the parent-coordinator? In addition I would like to meet with a representative of Staten Island NAACP. Perhaps ACRES can share our mission on the 15th with you all.

    Sincerely,

    Sophia Durall, ACRES Board Secretary
