Fri              7          Staten Island Know-It-All Bowl, 7-10pm

 

Sun             9          Ecology Walk: Snow Birds Arrive, 8-10am

8-10am, meet at Wolfe’s Pond Park, near the bathroom building at the far end of the parking lot.  We will look for songbirds in the woods, and waterfowl in the bay!

Thr             13         127th Anniversary Gala, 6-10pm

Sat              15         Jr. Science Club: Senses, 10am-12pm

Students will explore limits of their senses through various physical tests and activities.

$8./$5. Members, for children ages 8–13, parents may observe.

All Aboard: Tour on the S.I. Ferry, 10:45am

A talk & Harbor Tour on a regularly scheduled boat

11:30 AM –Join up with our tour at the Whitehall Terminal Visitor Desk

 

 Nature Ornament Workshop, 1-3pm

Use local dried pods, seeds, and stems as you create beautiful decorations for your home -then a bunch more to festoon & benefit the museum! (Must be able to use a hot glue gun)

$2 for members/ $5 for others

 

Wed           19         Lunch & Learn, Staten Island Ferry, 11:15am

 

Sat              22         Joy Nagy Artist Talk, 12pm

Artist Joy Nagy will give a gallery talk about her inspiration and work with the ubiquitous burdock plant. Free with museum admission

Meet at the Dolphins along Father Capidanno Blvd.  We will be searching the Bay for newly arrived waterfowl, and the dunes for late migrating songbirds 

 

Wed           17         Lunch & Learn: Christmas in Italy, 12pm

 

Sat              20         Christmas Bird Count all day, round-up at 7:30pm (100th Anniversary of the Museum’s participation!)

                                                Help count every individual bird on the Island!
