Bright Steps Forward “First Annual Chowder Fest” to Benefit Children with Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Traumatic Brain Injuries

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The First Annual Chowder Fest will be held Sunday, Nov. 16, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. rain or shine, on the FDR Boardwalk, at the South Finn Grill, South Beach. Admission is $15 for basic tickets; $7 for children ages 4 to 7; children under 3 are free. Premier tickets are $25; $15 for children; VIP tickets are $55 for adults. Visitors will have the chance to sample some of Staten Island’s best chowders and vote for their favorite choices.

Award categories are: People’s Choice, King of the Clam, Best New England Clam Chowder; Best Manhattan Clam Chowder; Best Original Chowder; and Best Amateur Clam Chowder.

Proceeds will go to Bright Steps Forward, a nonprofit organization dedicated to help children with cerebral palsy, autism and traumatic brain injuries. In addition, an employee of one of the participating restaurants will be awarded the South Fin Grill Chowder Fest Scholarship, to pursue his or her interests in the culinary field.
